Fair Diem......

I have started the process of fairing the mould (sanding fairing compound is the dustiest job in the world.) As you can see in the picture, I have done a lot of work on the bottom, but still have some low spots to fill. Its looking so nice I'm kicking around the idea of fiber glassing this set of forms so that I can get more pulls off them.

Another comment from my build - remember to be religious about your dust mask. I wasn't as careful as I should have been and I'm pretty certain I accumulated an unwanted bunch of dust in my lungs. It has taken about a year for me to feel my lung capacity is back to what I expect.

That fine powder from fairing compound is nasty stuff - I was extruding crud out of my eyes, nose and wherever for a long time. I had to start doing a sinus lavage to get it out.

It's easy to grab five minutes here and there of time in the shop - skipping the prep and environmental stuff but in the long run it is a mistake. Don't be lazy - a good mask filter is a small pain in the ass compared to chronic respiratory problems later.

Thanks for the tip Bill, and its good advise. I'm using a really nice charcoal mask and its working great. If you have sandpaper in your hand you should have a mask on your face.
